I "bequeathed"
the Succayah and The Company to my partners Gadi&Efrat.
Both still lived far away, in Tel-Aviv
Dedicated, but instable teams
in the Succayah.
Its survival is in danger.
Sept. 1997: Gadi asks me to meet Avi Dror, a potential partner.
Dec. 1997: Avi Dror starts
working in the Succayah.
Yes, I made my final "lekh-lekha"
from the Succah and from the Company.
Was I wrong?
From the present perspective, after 3
months of an ongoing "peace process",
I ponder with pain about the kind of relationship I've had with Gadi and Efrat.
I'm sure, this, too, is a matter of destiny, i.e. of a choice made before
this life.

The beginning
was in the winter, during the Gulf war in January-February 1991. Gadi/Efrat wanted to get away from Tel-Aviv (where were Maya and Nimrod?). They headed for Eilat, taking the less comfortable, but safer road through Mitzpe-Ramon. Somewhere they saw a sign: "Succah in the Desert", which they followed. We talked into depth - about the present Succayah and the future Midbaron. I still see Gadi sitting there on a cushion in the old Abraham-Succah and saying: "How long do you think it will take, until the Midbaron will be ready to live in?" "At least 3 years from now!" "No! Less!" he exclaimed. We were both wrong, but ~~~ |

Then they started to come as paying guests, sometimes together, sometimes
each one alone,
trying out one succah after the other, sometimes just resting, sometimes helping
with maintenance.
Here they are seen - maybe not by chance in the Rachel Succah, 1994, while
Efrat was pregant with Amit

Sometimes - when vigorous
carpentry maintenance was needed - Gadi would bring along Daniela to volunteer.. Daniela, who was the couple's closest friend, incubated a terrible disease, to which she finally succumbed. I'll tell about Daniela another time. Here she is seen with carpenter Renata, before or after our weeklong Survival-Training in August 1993. |
This Survival-Training was a mile-stone in the relationship
between Gadi/Efrat and me.
In retrospect I see, that it was only half a year later, that we became official
partners.
That Survival-Training!!!!!
Nobody had the strength to carry a camera in his/her terribly heavy backpack.
What a pity! for thus the profound experiences get blurred and cannot be shared.
The training was proposed by Nir
Gur as a gift to the Succah team and to guests.
The Succah-team consisted of Michal, Sarit, Amichai, Renata, Noam and me.
From the outside only Gadi, Efrat and Daniela wanted to participate.
Even while we went through this extreme experience,
I and some others too, had the feeling,
that it had to do with the Jesus-scenario
and that some day the meaning would reveal itself.
For everyone the effort was almost beyond bearance.
But Gadi with his vertigo and Daniela suffered the most.
On the third morning, Nir came to me, with dispair:
"Daniela wants to leave and go home."
I took her aside and gave her support and she stayed.
| I wonder now: Michal and Renata and Noam are close friends with each other up to this day, but not with me. Sarit became religious, married an orthodox man, and consequently split from former friends. Amichai, the nephew of Israel's chief rabbi, "but" a Jesus fragment and a declared homosexual, does great things in America, but after his planned departure from the Succah turned against me. Daniela is dead, Efrat keeps to herself, and Gadi perverts my inheritance and discards my path. |

The photos from now on were all taken during
a hike with Larqa,
and with a German volunteer, whose name I cannot recall to
my regret.
to and above and inside the Ramon Crater.
I think, this hike took place not during the first 3 weeks of snow,
from January 1, 1992 onward,
but during a second harsh wave of cold and snow, in February 1992.
