Having
watched my granddaughter's path
for three intense years now
(my assignment with Mika started 3 years ago,
at the end of December 2006)
I want to dedicate to her a little song,
which I learnt from one of her discs: |
How
grows grass? - Just like that!
How grows a flower? - Just like that!
How does wheat grow? - Just like that!
How grows a child? - Just like that? |

Five days after the celebration of Mika's
4th birthday,
all the family came together again - in a festive place,
expanded by members, who had not been at Shoham
(my grand-daughter Rotem and my stepson Joel's 3 grownup
children,
and from the Hahn-tribe: my husband's niece Edna +family)
this time not for Mika's sake~~but for her cousin Arnon,
and this time together with another, much greater tribe,
the - at present - 53 members of the growing
Landau-Family.
What a joy to see, how the generation of the grandparents,
which
'lost' many of their closest members in the holocaust,
is following the command of the Biblical Creator [Genesis
1:28]:
'Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the
earth'
Since this harmonious merging of the Rosenzweigs and the Landaus
(though most of them are religious, and some of them
living on Palestinian territory to my regret)
is "Israel" at its best and another sign of the future Heaven-on-Earth,
I'm including my documentation in Mika's personal Heaven-on-Earth!
My sixteen closest actors in
my life-drama:
Rafael Rosenzweig's descendants
Rafael
Rosenzweig , 1922-2001, was
married to Ines Cohn from 1946-1963 and to Christa-Rachel Guth from
1964-1981
Later he married a Swiss woman, Ursula, who also converted to Judaism.
He died on December 5, 2001, in Switzerland.

Let
me start with images of Edna, from the farest branch of our
tribe.
Edna lives close to Micha's family and the two families are
friends.
Rafael's mother Edith Hahn had two sisters, Gertrud and Ilse
[see that pedigree on
Sept.
12, 2008]
Ilse Hahn-Strauss had been like a foster-mother to me
during my scholarship year in Jerusalem 1960-61.
Her only living son, Eliahu (still alive) , has 3 children,
of whom Edna, the youngest, again has 3 children.

Much nearer to Mika than this daughter of
her dead grandfather's cousin
are her father's step-siblings,
Joel and Dita, with their spouses: Tova and Gideon.
Their children came without their spouses/partners and kids.
Orit, Dita's elder daughter, could not come from Moskow,
where her husband serves as guard in the Israeli Embassy.

watching the magnificent slide-show of Arnon
about their karavan journey in the Josemite-Park in USA
Tova, Joel's wife, will appear further below on "mixed"
photos.
Asaf, Joel's younger son, with whom I had a good talk, doesn't appear
on any photo.
I'll now begin - almost orderly - with
Mika's stepbrother Alon,
the first one, who contributed his talent to Arnon's celebration.
I'm glad I took these pictures of Mika's stepbrother, when he was
practising - while still at Shoham.
before we drove to Shilat (near Modi'in), to the festive place in
a private family's house and garden
For during Alon's performance on his own electronic piano, brought
from his home to Shilat by Micha,
I was frentically busy (what else is new
on such occasions!) with attaching Yael's drawing to that
screen.
But later I, as all the family, received the album of Hovav, Ra'ayah's
brother, with Alon starring in it,
on the background of photos with Arnon's climbing on the "Half-Dome"
in Josemite Park in the USA:
"I climbed - I conquered the mountain"
|
|
As to my own part in the party, I deem it
"important",
that my inspired poem for Arnon may appear right here!
Since - except for Immanuel - nobody was moved by it.
How did this poem & drawing come into being at all?
Micha had asked, if I was ready to "say something",
"but it should be very short
and you should not mention anything about yourself!"
I laughed: "you want to eat the cake and
have it!
You want your childrens' grandma to be special,
but you also want her to hide her specialness!"
He laughed, a bit embarrassed: "That's
right!"
It's tragi-comic, what happened
around this co-creation of me and Yael.
I asked Yael, our paintress and Arnon's cousin-friend, to draw
or paint
the photo of 2001, when 6 year old Arnon sat at the Salt Sea
and said:
"Abba! Let me work! I have to repair
the Shore!"
I told Yael, that, if possible, she should arrive earlier at
the celebration,
so as to have time to copy her draft above my poem on the old
screen,
which I -years ago in Arad- had found on the street "for
this occasion!"
.....
Perhaps ... one day,
Yael's - improved- image of Arnon
will manifest directly on the screen! |
|
The
Essence of Arnon, as seen by his Grandma
Arnon, the boy, was created in the Desert!!
His name was called after the name of a river
which flows from Jordan into the Desert Sea
and sweetens its salt with the river's water
The river shrinks and the Sea retreats...
In the mud there is digging the innocent child:
"I", he explains, "am
repairing the shore!"
Oh yes, my boy! create good till infinity!

From the exhibition of images about Arnon's
thirteen years
The first of the photos along the front
of the festive place (covered by transparent Nylon
and Passiflora plants)
showed Arnon digging in the sand - though not at the Dead but at the
Mediterranean Sea
Another image does show Arnon at the Dead
Sea, yet not near the water, but above "my" peninsula,
when - in 2004 - he, his father and his sister, came to celebrate a
quite authentic Pesach with me,
preparing unleavened bread, to be baked on a "sadj" above
the fire we made.
[See
a similar situation in
2009,[and see the page on "Noah's
Shore
Dreamers' , where I mention "Pesach" 3 times]

is reading there.
But it's a nice composition

Tomer looks, I hope he thinks:
"I ,
too, could caryy my little sister on my back!"
But we had a good though
short exchange:
"What
is most interesting in your life now?"
"Amusing myself and studying!"
"Studying?"
"Yes, what's so surprising?" |
