Three Tree Songs
ALON - OAK
and
BROSH - CYPRESS
and the new exhilarating song, chosen for Independence Day 2011
2007_08_08 2009_10_04 |
This
is originally a Russian love-song in which a huge tree, translated into Hebrew as "Alon", plays a role. I remember a moving scene: When my grandson Alon was about seven years old, his father played the guitar and Alon the drum and both sang this song. In honor of Alon's 16th birthday today I adapted the song to his own life and love today, and transformed the sadness of the song into happiness. |
I based my own singing on the tune which I found on
the Internet,

Etz-Ha-Alon - the Oak-Tree
In 2012 I discovered a video with a performance on Memorial Day 2011, which I like very much What I liked even more, was a live performance on The Day of Independence, of the mayor of Holon and his 2 brothers, in honor of Moni Amarilio [1932]. : I took some photos from the TV screen: |

Another tree-song, and another song by Ehud Manor
BROSH - CYPRESS
bio-context: Learn&Live16>2011_02_03
Arranged, played and sung by Jonathan (guitar) and Yael (clarinet and singing) on Itamar's Bar-Mitzvah on February 1, 2011 Since the children like the performances of Eviatar Banai. I'm linking to three of them: one ~~~~- second (Eviatar at the piano) ~~~third (Sept. 24, 2010) March 21, 2011: See the lonely Rotem-tree, which we discovered, when we, Arnon, Yael and I, climbed down a wadi south-east of Arad |

makhar yagi'a be-khatzot
Tomorrow arrives at midnight
See the song and the story
My singing of the Keren Peles version of the song |
[my
translation] (1) This evening knows things, which the morning guessed, this evening touches, what the heart already requested, we discovered the mystery of the connection . and through the feeling we choose. We stand on the bridge between today and tomorrow Tomorrow will come at midnight, new and beautiful and pure will it entrust itself in our hands, Tomorrow will come at midnight through all the streets it will pass and - while passing - light up our eyes; Tomorrow - in the hope that we've learnt something from yesterday, in the hope . that we'll know to love and have compassion (2) Always from time immemorial one dreams this country, one knows, yes, "in the heart within" [an allusion to Israel's National Anthem] that we are brothers and sisters, we discovered the mystery ....... |
See the "flaw" in the story about the performance of Ehud Manor's song with the tune and singing of Keren Peles in a very impressive circle of choirs and orchestra on the Eve of the Day of Independence, And listen there to Achinoam Nini's version! |
