"I want you to feel everything, every little thing!"

In the meanwhile my porridge was ready and I walked out to the veranda.
"I come with you and say the "birkat ha-mazon" - the blessing over food.
"Thank you for reminding me of the need to bless!"
I was a bit ashamed, that, when I'm alone, I do not bless aloud.
But, of course, I   f e e l   grate-full, especially after I've eaten.

She recited a rhyme so stupid in my eyes, that I said:
"Did you imagine, that I would like this one?"
"I know another one, from my former kindergarden.:"
Let's fold our hands and give thanks in our hearts:
to the earth which makes everything grow with love,

Good appetite and a blessed meal."

"Now this one is excellent, Lior.
It's the way I taught my grandchildren to bless,
only that each one chooses just one chain of things,
and every time something else."

"I thank for the earth which grew the oats,
I thank the people who harvested the oats,
I thank the people who turned the raw oats into "Quaker",
I thank the truck-driver who brought the Quaker to the shop,
I thank the shopkeeper who guarded the Quaker for me until I bought it
(I'm really buying this in a small, cheap shop not in Supermarkets which I hate
and it's one of the few things I buy at all, since they rarely come my way),

who worked so hard on harvesting the sugar-cane,

Her mind was racing to take all this in.
.
"But now let's look at this second birkat-mazon.
I want to learn it by heart and even add a tune to it.
Except that the first and the last line don't suit me.
and I'll say "todah", "thanks", not in my heart but out loud!"

She went inside and came back with a piece of paper and a pen
(as I said: she knows every box and drawer in my crowded room).
She is only in pre-school,
but slowly draws the letters as they appear in the Bible.

And as promised, in the evening I recorded a tune to Lior's song.
Thank you, little Flower-Queen!

How good- that Mika with all her beauty and intelligence and sweetness -
creates "contrast" by assuming an attitude of "posing" and "dominating"!

I choose another of her recent drawings, which is now glued to my cupboard in my room:

"About what?" "That's difficult to tell~~~ perhaps about some place!"

 

 

Of course, after a while, and when she couldn't evict me from my own room ("this room doesn't belong only to you!") she forgot her nastiness and played her favorite game : hiding, this time under my precious blanket, my childrens' gift to my birthday, with the verse: "And those who see Ha-Shem, will talk among each other, and he listens and he hears!"

This is, as far as I know, the first rhyme, Mika has created - in one go! Though if not for grandma - it would have been forgotten just as fast "Colors, colors, all the colors of the rainbow fill the world and make it perfect!"

The next day both of us, Efrat and I, invited an experience,
which we feared would be a bit difficult for us.

Gaia, a little girl in Mika's kindergarden ,

How strange, that the 3 images, which I took for the one reason, to later try and understand, why I felt so uncomfortable with this child, include "by chance" the biblical verse on my 70th birthday blanket, which is so important for me, that since August 16, 2008, it appeared on each K.i.s.s.-log day until the end of 2008 "AZ NIDBERU" - "they will talk among each other" My new Midrash and song in 5 languages about the prophecy of Malachi 3, 16 ["YHWH" is named "HA-SHEM"= The Name Then those who see Ha-Shem, will talk among each other, and he listens      and he hears yatakaalamuna     allathina     yarau'na-hu , va-yusri        va-yasma' Dann die IHN schauen, werden reden miteinander, und er lauscht      und er hoert Puis ceux qu'ils voient Ha-Shem, se parlent l'un a l'autre il entends,        il ecoute In hindsight this situation and interaction was the nicest and easiest during those 2 hours with Gaia.

 

 

 

The next morning, Wednesday, November 11, 2009, Immanuel returns from New York
just in time to wake up Mika.
And when she is ready for breakfast, Abba and Imma let her jump to the kitchen

Actually this would have been the time for me to leave,
but Efrat had asked me to stay another day,
so I would experience the "Creation Group",
in which parents and children can create
whatever they want , together or separately.

Mika didn't want her mother to leave her alone with me,
so Efrat stayed and could take a photo of the two of us.
To my regret, it's not visible, that I was working with clay,
as Efrat had proposed, just as she had proposed,
that I should use a paper template and form a fairy.
At first I felt out of place, akward and as to the fairy - silly.
But when I got into it, I found it exactly fitting,
that I didn't shape a bowl or something practical,
but ~~~ a fairy ~~~ a heavy earthen fairy....
