Bruised reed and dark wick
Help him to discharge his
pain and his fear, Then will stand up
"the bruised reed" |
Even the best translation falls short
of the depth of the original. So I wonder it it's of any use, to quote an English translation: Isaiah 42: 2-4 2 He will not shout or cry out, or raise his voice in the streets. 3 A bruised reed he
will not break, 4 he will not falter
or be discouraged Genesis

Behold! My Servant will grasp it!
Listen to the
tune of yet another of the 4 Servant Songs, and an adaptation of
the fourth one
Isaiah
52-53 some words and passages are badly translated in this version., I should compare different translations in Bible-Gate or find my own! For the meantime I'm quoting the Buber-Rosenzweig "Verdeutschung". The last sentence dictated by Franz Rosenzweig, my father-in-love, "Now there comes the point of all points, which God has revealed to me in my sleep" had to do with this chapter, but was left uncomplete, until today...... 13 Behold, My servant shall prosper, he shall be exalted and lifted up, and shall be very high. .... 2 For he shot up right forth as a sapling, and as a root out of a dry ground; he had no form nor comeliness, that we should look upon him, nor beauty that we should delight in him. 3 He was despised, and forsaken of men, a man of pains, and acquainted with disease, and as one from whom men hide their face: he was despised, and we esteemed him not. 4 Surely our diseases he did bear, and our pains he carried; .. the chastisement of our welfare was upon him, and with his stripes we were healed. ... 6 All we like sheep did go astray, we turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath made to light on him the iniquity of us all. 7 He was oppressed, though he humbled himself and opened not his mouth; as a lamb that is led to the slaughter, and as a sheep [rakhel] that before her shearers is dumb; yea, he opened not his mouth. ... 10 if his soul would offer itself in restitution, that he might see his seed, prolong his days, and that the purpose of the LORD might prosper by his hand *) 11 Of the travail of his soul he shall see to the full, even My servant, who by his knowledge did justify the Righteous One to the many, ... yet he bore the sin of many.. [2014, Febr. 22: the translation is impossible, but to understand the text, you not only need to learn Hebrew but to free yourself from 2000 years of distorted Christian interpretation.. |
Later addition (see Hebrew explanation below on Aug. 17, 2012] |

*) the more I look into the English translation,
the more frustrated I am.
But today, Sept. 10, 2010, I MUST change at least one line, verse 10:
and the desire of Hashem will succeed in his hand!

u-matzdiqeê ha-rabbim
Two
verses complement and complete the concept of "The Lord's Servant",
- a metaphor for the cosmic-human consciousness that "grasps" the
ONE,
for the task of making people feel "righteous", i.e. whole with
themselves!
I had been patiently waiting, until a tune would come to me.
And then I saw the animated movie: "The
Girl that leaped through Time".
I was touched by the main song, sung
in Japanese by the girl Hanako Oku,
and with great effort I adapted the two verses to the first part of "Garnet".
This work also healed much of the prejudice which I always held against Japan...
)2( Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, nor let the rich man glory in his riches; let not the hero glory in his heroism, but let him glory in this: to grasp-to-understand and to know Me, for I am Ha-Shem, for I am Y-H-W-H Jeremiah 9:23 (my rendition and translation) |
)1( And those who grasp-and-understand shall shine as the radiance of the firmament; and those who make the Many feel "righteous", i.e. whole with themselves, as the stars for ever and ever Daniel 12:3 (my translation) |

- Mika's Heaven on Earth
I follow my understanding and new lekh-lekhâ on January 1, 2009, that - after 7 years - I should no longer create new pages on my 2 websites, but intermingle the evidence of new experiences with that on existing pages. On August 1, I decided to re-employ song-page after song-page for documenting and exploring the evolution of my youngest grandchild, a starchild whose assignment for this planet seems to be: to demonstrate by her own living and doing, how to playfully create from moment to moment "zest-fully and full-filled" [see the previous 6 pages composition] The composition on the former & the following page documents the last days of my family at Bet-Nehemya, before they would move in with my daughter at Modi'in temporarily, until their newly rented flat at Shoham would be emptied by its tenants. |
Already at 6:40 in the morning
the workers of the Packing Company appear.
All the while Abba is
busy with repairing spots on the wall. "Smile, Abba", says
his daughter, when she sees me taking his picture
Then it's time for us to be brought
to the pool at Shoham.
One last and glorious picture
of father and daughter inside the house,
The family will now be sheltered
in the house of my daughter's family at
Modi'in ,
Mika and I enjoy the pool once
more,
Still, we enjoyed ourselves a
lot.
