On July 15, 2011,
I finally copied a document which I kept in paper for almost 14
years:

The
READ-SEA-PARTNER- " S H I P "
Though we have
in mind a stationary barge or raft, which will move
only
once the borders between the four Red Sea nations
will be truly open,
we use the word "SHIP" because of the play
of words with "Partnership". |
1. GENERAL INFORMATION
a. "Partnership" presently musters its forces
and resources to strengthen and ground peace between Israel
and her neighbours, according to "Partnership's"
principles.
b. "Think globally, act locally!" "Partnership"
decided to focus on the region which seems to be predestined
to become a bridgehead for peace between Israel and Jordan:
the Red Sea between Aqaba and Eilat.
c. "Partnership" chose the project of a "RED
SEA PARTNER-S H I P " [see
later on] as the best way
to actualize and demonstrate its principles.
d. "Partnership" is in search for Jordanian partners,
so that we can join forces in realizing and operating the
"RED SEA PARTNER-S H I P " .
2. THE PROJECT:
a.
The SHIP (a barge of the size of
about 17 m x 17 m) will anchor about 1200 m from the shore
exactly on the border-line between Israel and Jordan, so
that the imaginary border will pass through the center of
the SHIP. Half of the SHIP will be n the water of Israel
and the other half in the water of Jordan.
b. On the SHIP simple dwellings will be installed, tents
and "succahs" (huts or cabns) that were developed
by us based on vast experience in "green" desert
hosting, in a composition and qulity adapted to the conditions
of the red Sea, even its frightening Southern winds: four
double pyramidal tents in the center of the SHIP for sleeping
(7-8 guests), the intimate space between them for meeting
(up to 30 visitors), and the four succas around them for
living (we, the hosts), and also for cooking, storing, toilets
etc. Electricity will be provided by the sun and water (desalinated)
by the sea.
c. The fact that the SHIP will be n the border will create
a primary and unique situation in which a border does not
any longer signify "separation" (like the border
area on the shore which is fortified by ever so many electronic
and barbed wire fences and infested with mines against people,
and all this despite "peace" between Israel and
Jordan), but "connection", the connection between
two peoples, two cities, - a place which is Israel and Jordan
at once.
d. The fact that the SHIO will be exactly on the border
will also realize the necessary condition for the first
function of the Partner-SHOP: equal conditions for hosting
Israelis and Jordanians who are interested in studying together
how to create the conditions of partnership between Eilat
and Aqaba and perhaps later - between Israel and Jordan.
Each
partnership is based on three conditions:
Common Interest, Mutual Trust and Equality of Self-respect.
If
- between peoples or people who are dependent on
each other - these conditions do not exist,
these conditions must become the targets, aims,
goals of thinking, talking and acting.

It wasn't very complicated to get registered as an NGO this time,
quite contrary to my experience with registering an NGO in 1977
("Partnership")
and in 1989 ("Succah in the Desert")
But I remember how Aviv came to the David Succah
and I told him with joy that the certificate arrived:
"So what, if this paper certifies a partnership,
while there is no partnership in reality",
he said with bitterness.
I shall not say much about this "partner",
though his relationship with us was intense for several months
and drained much of our energy.
His positive contribution was his revolutionary idea about the structure of
the raft.
Four gigantic steel pipes would form a pyramid
which would contain two "floors", one for the tents of the guests
and one for the succahs of the hosts and the facilities.
On the bottom there would be a "pool", formed by a net,
so that people could immerse in the sea without danger.
I was enthusiastic about his idea, and I still am.
A tune came to me that day, one of the best among my 75 songs,
to the one biblical verse, where the word "Tzinnorot" appears,
today the term for "pipes" or "tubes"
We did all kinds of things to study his idea with experts.
One day Aviv and David even drove as far north as to a kibbutz near or at the
Lake of Tiberias,
which has a production line for water pipes.
There is no documentation left regarding Aviv's
exit.
Nor are the detailed plans of the raft with me.
In the guestbook I wrote next to this photo:
"The David Succah alone at the shore in October 1993,
and now we have an Amutah (NGO)."
What an illusion.
After my experience
with Fawaaz I asked:
"Is it possible to function as parents for growing partners?"
parents and partners have the same consonants!
My answer today: No , it is not possible!
|
No
partnership with Aqaba
[seen across the gulf through
our FourNationTent]
nor with Fawaaz,
the Israeli Arab,
nor with Scott,
the American Israeli
[the visitor to whom I'm pouring
the tea, is not Scott,
who wrote the letter below,
but another American Israeli,
who came so often, that I finally understood,
that he wasn't interested in the RedSeaPartnerSHIP,
but in getting very good therapy from Me, for FREE.] |
Scott lived on a boat, which he had rented in
Eilat.
Until I somehow disappointed and hurt him, he was dedicated to
our cause,
but with this letter pushed me even further into my pattern of "petitioning":
And then there was a hope and a commitment and
much work towards a partnership initiative, which was not ours.
