The fairy-princess makes her father
do magic
Tomer doesn't feel like playing "magic"
Alon and Elah have arrived - to celebrate
Tomer's birthday.
Alon wants Abba to hear his playing and singing.
"Come to the kitchen, while I am preparing
dinners!"
I catch the pretty scene from the outside
through the kitchen-window.
Meanwhile Elah and Mika draw outside in one
of the many pathways through this neighborhood.
The chalk colors were recently bequeathed to Mika by the cousins from
her mothers' side,
and it was me, who suggested this game.
"Do you want me to come too?"
I asked. "No I want to be alone with Elah!"
Though Tomer will be 15 only on November
8,
we celebrate his birthday on this Eve of Shabbat, Nov. 6.
He was exact in his wishes: not only concerning "gifts",
but also oncerning the food, which he wanted Abba "World-Chef"
to cook,
and concerning the persons to be invited: only sister Elah, brother
Alon and grandma.
Tomer reads the highly appreciative lines,
which his
stepmother has written for him.
Indeed, it seems that Tomer has outgrown
long years of suffering and making suffer.
(But 2 hours after
I wrote this, I heard from the boarding-school,,
about an accumulation of incidents of "having touched limits"...)

This is the last time,
that this huge candle is burning.
2 years ago,
when Tomer still liked to go out
into Nature with grandma,
late at night or before sunset,
he once dragged me to a hill,
where we had a great experience
with this candle.
I didn't have my camera with me,
but I sculpted in words,
what had touched me so much:
"The
Four Elements of Tomer"
"when I'm sad, I'm earth,
when I'm glad, I'm fire,
when I'm calm, I'm water,
and when am I air, grandma?"
"when I feel free!!!!!"
~~~
"and do you know
why I am earth,
when I'm sad?
because the earth
is beneath my feet."
|
Here the stand of the candle is empty already.
The flame had risen
to a dangerous height.
Immanuel
carried the candle away
and put it on a stone
to let it burn to the ground.
"I'm sorry,
I ever bought and brought this candle from Thailand, then!"
Efrat
had not wanted this gift
and bequeathed it to me,
and I loved it and lit it up
in my room
in the previous flat
at Shoham.
The result: darkened walls!
But I am still grate-full
for and to this candle,
because it gave me
at least 2 great experiences, one with the
Quartet
and one with Tomer. |
After Dinner - Music and Singing!
|
Someone brings
the 4 folders,
in which I had gathered
all the songs,
which were heaped up
in different forms and places,
and made it
- with Efrat's help -
a
gift to
Immanuel's birthday
this year.
But
there will be
forever songs
which someone
begins to sing
which "are not
in the book".
And in the face
of my family's
huge repertoire
I can only watch
and listen
and enjoy... |
