A family trip in the environment of the Jerusalem mountains
Now the cave or the succah, or whatever Mika had in mind
when placing so many branches above the cleft between two rocks, is ready.
At home: Mika shows Abba her homework
Gazing at each other - who will be the first one to laugh? |
Ever
since I moved with Immanuel and Efrat from flat to flat, I tried to convince them to let go of planting fancy flowers in pots , planters, or garden. Even someone, who has a green hand like me, does not succeed with flowers, which sparkle when one buys them, but after a short time dry and fade and cannot be resurrected. "Geranium" is the flower that lasts!" To no avail. They did it another time, bought fancy flowers, and the veranda is sad to look at now. So, when we were at that Arab restaurant, "Caravan" at Abu-Gosh [see above] (with my nostalgia to "Siniya" 50 years ago), I saw some 8 different colors of geranium. I plucked a stalk of each of them - the way it has to be plucked in order to take roots in the soil. From the veranda I took the smallest pot, let Mika dig up the soil, water it and "plant". We added just one flower, for the beauty of it, since a stalk with a flower will not take root. Without begging her, Mika promised to water the pot every day. Will she or her mother keep the promise? |
She lets herself fall from a stool |
When
I saw her mother getting really irritated by Mika's constant discontent
with her coiffures, I negotiated a treaty with her - in my own writing, so that we both could be better focused. Then she copied, what we had worked out [first grade started only a month ago!]: For Imma: "I want only 4 coiffures [she details the four] Each morning I'll ask from you 1 of these 4 and till the end of the Succot Festival I won't ask to exchange coiffures." signed Mika (she lately learnt about "signature"] |
Photos of Mika: the flowers on the dinner-table and the exhibition next to my computer: a bark, pine-needles, and some of those "lentils" of the klil-hakhoresh [see Mika's and my experience with these beans from "the Bride of the Wood" tree in Heaven-to-Earth 6>September 12, 2011] and the 34 chits with fruits and vegetables, she had written on them - always asking me how to spell- in order to "buy" them in the supermarket |
