Ama et fac quod vis : Love and Do what you wish
[but only if you are able to function as a "lightning-rod"!
- addition on Jan. 5, 2011]
2007_06_04 Ich lieb und lach mit dir, mit euch |
lyrics and tune:
|
The
Chorus ama et fac quod vis is a famous quote in Latin from the 4th century "Church Father" Augustinus: "Love and do what you want" |
|
Ich lieb und lach mit dir, mit euch |
From
my diary, August 30 , 2007, following the "Driving Backward" to the huge lesson of August 2006 All those letters and diaries about learning compassion seem to emphasize one message only: don't be righteous, be a lightning rod! don't be right, be light! Light in the sense of "easy" or "leicht" in German. " Light I am, a lightening rod Leicht bin ich - ableite Blitz" |
Ich
lieb und lach mit dir, mit euch ama et fac quod vis I love and laugh with you, with you ama et fac quod vis Leicht bin ich und ich bin Licht ama et fac quod vis Light I am and I am Light ama et fac quod vis Ich lieb und leb allein - all-eins Ich lieb mich selbst wie ich dich lieb' |

We are still at Mazkeret Batya, celebrating Ayelet Rosenzweig's
12th birthday, only with the Rosenzweig Family,
on Shabbat, August 14, 2010
The
book for Ayelet "The Life of Ayelet, which Ayelet knows NOT", will be ready only for the celebration in November. But my short introduction with a song about Ayelet's name based on its 3 appearances in the Bible, was ready, even ready with a tune. I had asked Micha to print it out, since the printer at Shoham didn't work, and also inquired cautiously, if he wanted me to read and sing in front of all the family. The answer could be guessed: "It will be too embarassing for Ayelet, and anyway she wouldn't understand, what you want from her." This was alright for me, for I, too, would have been very embarrassed, imagining all the judgments against my being so weird. But seeing three of the "Quartet" together, I suddenly had an idea, I caught them: "Please come to Ayelet's room". Itamar, on the veranda with the small kids, felt, what was going on and joined us. |
"It looks like the ten commandmends!" said Ayelet, when I showed them what I had created for her. "Yes, indeed! When I now received the print-out, I started to make a pretty clipping, and that's the result". I sang the 4 lines of 12 syllables 4 times, between explaining my intention. But I'll insert the tune only on the date of the Bat-Mitzva celebration |
While some families were already preparing to leave, another
family only arrives:
Joel and Tova, together with Hadass, who, as I learnt, will have her wedding
in November.
I also learnt, why the other two of Joel's children, Ran and Asaf, could not
come on this day,
just like Immanuel had to be absent, since he was still somewhere else on
the globe.
Efrat and Mika with Hadass, Joel's daughter, and Orit,
Dita's daughter + baby, and Uri on the staircase.
Ra'ayah, my daughter-in-love, and Tova, Joel's wife
(does that make her my "stepdaughter-in-law"?)
Micha, the youngest among Rafael Rosenzweig's children,
sitting next to Joel, the eldest
Ronnit behind her two brothers, against my photographing.
What is she explaining to her sister-in-law?
And once more: three of the Quartet and Rotem
Hadass - happy |
Mika , too serious |
I'm proud of this composition, but sad about Tomer's non-interaction.
I once tried to get him out of this chair, using as a pretext as well as one
reason,
that I wanted to sit next to my daughter (on the sofa next to the chair).
But he did not join any other group. He only seated himself on the staircase.
A lovely circle : Tova, Mika, Efrat, Ra'ayah, Ayelet,
Hadass
Since all the little ones are gone, Ayelet has time to play with Mika |
Since our car is stuck near Shoham, Micha takes the (precious)
time to drive us home (getting stuck among too many cars on his way back).
Mika, with me and Tomer on the backseat, takes my camera....
And takes it again, after we arrive in my room...
I'm glad she did, for in this way she documented the pretty dress, which I
got from Ronnit,
when we met at Beersheva two months ago, for the first time in private, after
seven years!
The next morning, Sunday, August 15, 2010, Grandma's birthday
Abba came back from Bankok, before Mika woke up.
This time he brought her a sophisticated drawing device.
And he brought the print of a sophisticated picture, which Efrat had discovered on the Internet ...
Efrat is home today, but since her colleague Talli
has to work, she invites Ronni, her daughter, Mika's friend.
Efrat: "Give me your camera, I want to take
pictures of the girls with their fans and send them to Ronni/s mother."
That's how these posed beauties came into my website, [though I take care
not to insert posing people....]
In my room - Immanuel exchanged the locations of
desk and chest,
as I had asked him to do, since the light from the window was irritating
He also hangs up the mirror , which now is hanging
left of my computer,
just like in Arad a mirror of the same size, but curved, hangs left of my
computer...
What a convenient and beautiful room!
Mika ever so often during any day comes to draw at
her/my chest. But what's the matter with her in this moment?
One specific spot of beauty
(Mika: "where did you find those little
pomegranates?"
Savta: "in one of the passages of the 'maze'
while walking Nella!")
