Vi gå öfver daggstänkta berg

A most popular European folkssong - in Hebrew
2007_05_08 The tune of the German version - which is also the version of the Israeli children song "our car"- can be heard on the website of folks-songs in all languages |
original
Swedisch folkssong and tune: Olof Thunman 1879-1944 German: very popular since 1917 English: translated from German-1998 Hebrew, translated from Swedish: Rachel Rosenzweig [later: Christa-Rachel Bat-Adam] January 1966 |
In 1966
in Israel there was no TV, but there was radio, and a program we listened to was: "Do you know the origin of this song?" In this case it was one of the most popular children's song: "ha-oto shaelanu"- "our car" in the next program they pointed out, that most people mentioned the German "Im Fruehtau zu Berge" as the origin, and that only I had guessed that the orginal of both, the German folkssong and the Hebrew children song was a Swedish folksong |
The Hebrew song is actually sung |
1.Vi gå öfver daggstänkta berg 2. De gamla, de kloka må le, 3. I mänskor, förglömmen
Er gråt, |
1.
:| 3. Werft ab alle Sorgen und Qual,
|
1. At dawn to the mountains we’ll hike 3.Abandon all worries and pain |
She writes "Mika" on a stone which she picked up from the ground |
A moment later she enjoys a green fig which she plucked from a baby-tree |
Continuation of the intertwined thread - Arad/Israel - Salvador/Brazil
A Welcome Party was arranged for all guests once a week.
There were only some 35 guests and lots were drawn for gifts.
Efrat drew "a meal for the entire family" as a gift.
What appears here, is not the free meal in Brazil, but
the always exhilarating puree-meal of Grandma.
I heaped up the puree in a way, that the Four could have some fun with sculpting
it as they felt like.
See the same scene around the same table and the
same kind of puree
3 years earlier on the
following SongGame page ( May 9, 2007)
The toad at Salvador seems to be a spectator of the
show which the Four at Arad have in mind:
And now - in Brazil - there are other eaters who come
along...
Mika in a hammock , reading "Bilbi", definitely does not belong to a 19th century family....
After discussions about the "creation" and some
trials and errors - it was decided,
that the Quartet would have to arrange their own Grandma Day, but without
Grandma.
There they would be able to do both: go, the four of them, to the local swimming-pool
and distribute the tasks of the creation among themselves as well as carry
them out.
Then - according to our strict schedule - everyone packed his/her bag for
traveling home,
so we were free to head for our last goal: the cave with the view to the Dead
Sea,
which I had discovered with
Rotem in January and tried out with Lior around Pesach.
Arnon kept walking beside me, to and fro,
in order to tell me his experiences with a 2 year course in computer programming...
When we reached the cave, it was Arnon's chance to fry on my gas-device.
I had - in addition to the goodies, chosen by the kids in the grocery - brought:
flour, salt, water, oil, eggs and milk, for making two kinds of dough,
one for Grandma's traditional pancakes and one just with flour, salt and water.
Yael took my camera:
Efrat talked with great delight and admiration about
Markus, who made hats and turtles etc. from palm-leaves
