I
lift up my eyes to the hills— where does my help come from? My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth. New International Version |

Lift
thine eyes to the mountains, whence cometh help. Thy help cometh from the Lord, the maker of heaven and earth. Mendelssohn, Elijah, Angels |
Mendelssohn, Elijah, Angels |
There is another tune to this song, in its German version,
in Mendelssohn's "Elias".
When I listen to it, I try to distinguish in it the third voice,
the voice that my mother sang with Ursel as first and me as second soprano,
Thank you , my personal mother, for having me bestowed with the gift of this
song!

- Mika's Heaven on Earth Since August 1, 2009, I employ song-page after song-page for documenting and exploring the evolution of Mika my youngest grandchild, whose assignment seems to be: to demonstrate to humankind by her own living and doing, how to playfully create from moment to moment "zest-fully and full-filled" [see previous composition] |

THE PASSOVER SEDER , this year on March 29, 2010
Morning, still at Arad

Tradition
has it, that on the morning of the Seder-Night the last chametz, or leavened bread, is burnt. I usually ponder, what my khametz should be. What do I guard in my home, which I no longer use or enjoy? Two recent experiences made me choose these three scores: Bach's: Magnificat + Christmas Oratorio and Haendel's Messiah (many videos!). One experience: I finally tore myself from the futile hope, that I would ever again seriously play the organ or the piano. The other experience: I watched a Messiah performance on TV: I loathed the selection of the biblical texts! Since I, in order to enjoy vocal music, am so dependent on liking the lyrics, I came to the excruciating conclusion, that I'm done with those Christian pieces, which had been so meaningful to me in my Christian childhood and youth. |
I decided to carry the books with me
to the
pool The wind was so strong, that it opened the
books While I had difficulty to let go, see who came
around! |

What I did NOT burn, since I couldn't find
it,
But since then I have learnt to live |
After the pool I traveled - by bus and by train - north,
to Lod.
Since Elah arrived 10 min. later from the opposite direction,
Immanuel fetched both, his mother and his eldest daughter,
and drove us to his home atShoham.
Everyone had a nap, since the night would be long.
When Mika woke up , she crept into her sister's bed.
"Look at us: 'kappiot' teespoon-lovers!"
said Elah.

Big sister Elah, of course, did not enter the kitchen to
help, but to show off!
She is now almost a full-fledged actress and presently performs in 3 plays!
A
difficult one... I'm invited to see with Immanuel and Efrat on April 15,
2010
