Fine-tuning to my Presence
2007_06_20-Gaza today and 3100 years ago
sculpture completed 2007_06_23; updated : 2007_07_09 and again updated on 2009_10_13 with the site "three daughters of Life"
There must be a woman in
Gaza, now 37 years old, |
Forty years later:
"Haaretz", June 19, 2007
June
17: In a "skype" talk Deborah Sylverstien mentioned her birthday on June 11. "What are you grateful for?" I asked her, "And what are your wishes?" After some days she sent a very moving list of "Thanksgivings", "hodayot" in Hebrew, which included a sentence about the "Tear of the Oppressed"...: |

Just now and by chance
my archive "produced" a series of articles
about "The Israelis as Conquerors" in Gaza
by Amos Elon, the famous writer,

My
preference in learning-healing-creating on my website
does not include " War & Peace " - as a "subject"
in itself.
And yet, after my friend Yanina sent me the link to
a site,
~ an extraordinarily beautiful site (see
also the artist's own site)
with the exemplary story of the "Three Daughters for Life",
I'm giving my heart's attention to the wondrous sculpture:
In English the link is called "MONUMENT",
In Arabic: "permanant site" (athar da'im)
In Hebrew : "THE FUTURE" (HAE-ATEED)
On the original site "The Future" moves
around the sea and the sand of Gaza
Preferences or not: I was so taken by Renee-Amit Mazor,
both by his concept and art concerning 'commemoration,'
that I "wasted my time" by looking into his
own website.
And again - I'll remind myself of this moving experience
only by inserting 2 phases of the homepage background:
The rainbow that is there and and then it is not there;
the waves along the stones, which "vibrate" and stop;
the boat - floating along the horizon~disappearing~~~
