The song has the same intention as the one, I already inserted
and which starts with the same verb "gol",
with which the third stanza of this song begins.
The song was - is - supposed to help me,
to let go of my worrying pattern.
The germ of this composition of three texts,
was a little interaction with the neighbor of that kind geriatrist,
about whom I told in the context of another song.
That neighbor said, that his name was "Gol" = roll.
Since I wondered about that strange name,
he told me the verse in the Bible about "gol".

Searching for a proper translation of proverbs 16:3
I'm, as usually, disappointed

The old King James Version says
Commit thy works unto the LORD,
and thy thoughts shall be established.

The New International Version says
Commit to the LORD whatever you do,
and your plans will succeed.

Young's Literal Translation
Roll unto Jehovah thy works,
And established are thy purposes,
the "Roll unto" is finally correct,
but the transcription of the "Name" is outrageous,
YHWH is actually a verb and cannot and should not be pronounced

Nor does The German Luther Version of 1545 convey the rolling:
Befiehl dem HERRN deine Werke,
so werden deine Anschläge fortgehen.
though in German there is a verb much more congruent with "gol"
than the English "roll".
One can roll a little ball, but not a huge barrel with dreadful worries!

The only trustful translation is, of course,
that of Martin Buber
(intuited with his "internalized" dead friend, Franz Rosenzweig)

Waelze IHM zu deine Taten,
und aufgerichtet werden deine Plaene.

2 It is vain for you to rise up early,
to sit up late,
to eat the bread of sorrows:
for so he giveth his beloved sleep.

Luther's translation for the last line:
"den Seinen gibt's der Herr im Schlaf",
"to his friends the Lord gives it in their sleep"
has enriched the German culture with a much quoted proverb
meaning:
that my problems and dilemmas are being solved,
or my plans are being established, while I'm asleep.

Though the English translation is closer to the Hebrew text,
I have always believed, that the Hebrew poet really meant,
what Luther understood 2000 years later...
