2010 - Mika's and My Heaven-on-Earth
Mika "gives treatment" - she says - to our "old" olive-tree on "Crane-Piazza" |
Mika seems to remember Re'i Benjamin, Tamir's and Hilah's baby, from beyond ... |

Still: Shabbat in Jerusalem
Trying to leave behind my judgments about the Wailing
Wall and all the political upheaval it causes,
I enjoy the merging of Herodian stones and present shrubs that grow out of
it, with a dove above!
[I discerned an
entry in "Google" on November 15, 2010 !! "What is the Wailing
Wall"]
Efrat tries to protect Mika, when the shoving and
squeezing becomes frightening.
This wasn't the worst situation!
In the most crowded spots I had to protect myself and could not use my camera...
Finally we reach the place, where we can order the
famous "Knaafeh".
Again - I remember the first weeks
after the 1967 war.
My husband - as the local assistant of the Agricultural Attaché of
the USA -
had to explore the occupied Westbank.
Sometimes I, or even the children, accompanied him.
That's why my first Knaafeh I ate in Nablus,
the Hebrew Shkhem (Sichem),
a town, which no Israeli would visit today for fear of .....
That's the situation after 43 years of occupation....
If it would belong to a Palestinian State, we probably COULD visit it....
"Mika!
This is one of the most delicious foods I know: Knaafeh! At least try it!" instead she buys a card of Jerusalem for kindergarden |
A symbolic image: across two barriers (actually
the entrance to a road tunnel): the religious people of Jerusalem
When we are close to our parked car, Mika walks on
the edge of the sideway,
we pull her back and not only Abba and Imma - even I'm pushed to warn her:
"Mika, I know that you would never run into the
street, but I told you:
You are scaring the drivers who are afraid that you might actually run.
This confuses them and they might cause an accident."
Continuation of Mika's
"Heaven-on-Earth" in November 2010 - in
SongGame July 18 , 2007 [the free space on the SongPage of July 17, 2007 "Oh Heaven on Earth" I left open for entries I don't know yet] |
